European Student Council Symposium

The second European ISCB Student Council Symposium (ESCS) will take place on Saturday, 8 September 2012. Its objective is to create a scientific and social network for PhD students and postdocs in the field of computational biology.

During this one-day symposium young researchers will have an opportunity to give oral and poster presentations, engage in an interactive workshop and listen to a keynote lecture by a prominent bioinformatician. The symposium is a great chance to network, exchange ideas, and get more involved with the bioinformatics community.

Venue: Congress Center Basel, Room "Singapore"

Keynote speaker:

Henrik Kaessmann (SIB, University of Lausanne, Switzerland)

“Visualizing Science” workshop speaker:

Mario Valle (Swiss National Supercomputing Centre, Manno, Switzerland)

This event is organized jointly by the European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB) and the ISCB Student Council (SC) with its European Regional Student Groups. Symposium committee chairs:

Pedro Lopes (chair), DETI/IEETA, University of Aveiro, Portugal
Florian Heer (co-chair), SIB, University of Basel, Switzerland

We look forward to welcoming all interested students!
